Quick Sticks Hockey
On Wednesday 5th April we went to Giggleswick School Astro Turf for a Quick Sticks Hockey Tournament. We had 2 super teams who all played really well.
Year 3/4 - Ellis (captain), Alfie B, Luca, Silas and Lucy.
Year 6 - Robbie (captain), Cameron, Joshua, Jack and Daniel W.
Our Y3/4 team scored lots of goals and came away in 6th place whilst our Y6 team came away with bronze medals for third place with Robbie deservedly winning a trophy for player of the tournament.
On Thursday 23rd March 3 pupils from Year 3 went all the way to Dalby Forest to take part in the North Yorkshire Cross-country Finals, having successfully competed in the first qualifier at Ingleton and then the North Craven final at Giggleswick. Congratulations to Alexia, Lucas and Finn who all ran well and represented our school. We are extremely proud of them all!
Netball High 5's
On March 13th a team of Year 5/6 went to Settle College for the Netball High 5's. They played lots of matches and their performance improved each game. The team spirit was fantastic and our captain and coach, Robbie ensured everyone's confidence grew by the end. We came 4th in the competition. Well done!
Swimming Gala at Settle Pool
Congratulations to our swimming team who went to Settle on Friday 3rd February. 13 pupils took part in races including freestyle, backstroke, breastsroke and a team relay. Well done to the following pupils; Freya, Tom, Alexia, James, Thomas, Lauren, Katie, Alfie, Flo, Hope, Olivia, Zac, Anna and Charlie E.
Football Qualifier at Settle College
On Thursday 20th October 17 pupils from Years 3-6 went to Settle College for the North Craven Football Qualifier Tournament. The event involved teams from 8 local schools playing in 7-a-side matches.
Y5/6 team: Daniel W (Captain), Thomas, George, Sam, Josh, Freya, Luke and Edward.
Y3/4 team: Luca (Captain), Alfie T, Zac, Jake D, Tom, Finn, Matthew, Charlie L and Lucas.
Both teams played incredibly well showing outstanding skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. The children were a joy to work with and the fantastic support from parents made this a really great event. Thank you to Jonny McKenzie and Roger Lockyer for their excellent coaching and support.
Y5/6: After winning 4 out of 5 matches with some excellent goals, the team were in a play off against Settle for 3rd place and they won 1-0.
Well done to Thomas McKenzie for winning Player of the Tournament.
Y3/4: After winning all of their matches they got to the final when they played Settle. It was a nail biting final which went to extra time resulting in Settle winning 1-0. We knew this would be a tough match and I am immensely proud of the team for keeping their heads up, playing some excellent football and staying positive. The team received silver medals in the presentation.
I was delighted to have a parent from Settle comment on what wonderful pupils we had representing our school. Well done everyone!
Cross-country at Giggleswick School
On Thursday 6th Ocotber 6 pupils went to Giggleswick School to compete in the Craven round of the cross-country - Alexia Harrison, Lucas Mottram, Finn Durkin, Freya Plowright, Kira Ryan and Marth Rigby. They all ran well and have worked very hard to get to this point in the competition. There were pupils from all over Craven. Well done to Alexia, Finn, Lucas and Kira who have all got through to the North Yorkshire finals at Dalby Forest in March 2017.
Year 2 Athletics
On Wednesday 5th October 11 pupils from Year 2 went to Giggleswick school to compete in the Indoor Athletics. Out of 8 competing schools we came 2nd. Well done to all the children. They enjoyed running, jumping and throwing activities.
On Tuesday 20th September we kick started our sporting calendar for the year 2016-2017. The annual cross-country qualifier was held here at Ingleton Primary School, the weather was wonderful and it was fantastic to see so many children from all over Craven competing in our lovely school grounds. We had 32 pupils from our school and it was really pleasing to see many new competitors, including our Year 3's for their first competition. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for representing our school so well. Congratulations to the children who came away with medals.

The above 3 pupils will qualify for the North Craven Cross-country final in Giggleswick in October. Along with Martha who was 4th girl in the Year 6 race and Finn Durkin who came 6th boy in the Year 3 race.
There were some pupils who only just missed out on a place, well done to William Hindle, Luca Dodgson and Jake Dawson.
North Yorkshire County Finals - Quad Athletics
18 pupils from Year 3-6 qualified for the North Yorkshire County Finals in York on Monday 20th June. The children competed in 4 events - sprint, run, vortex throw and standing long jump. The event was attended by over 600 children from all across the county, we represented Craven in this huge event. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side however we still performed well and had a great day. It is such an incredible achievement to attend this enormous event and a great experience for these children to have. After all the results were collated we found out that Jake Tilburn was 2nd boy overall - an amazing achievement. Well done to all the participants - Finn, Morgan, Thomas, George, Sophie H, Hope, Tilly, Ash, Millie D, Jake T, Scott, Zac, Alfie, Luca, Chloe, Thea, Katie and Freya. Thank you to all the parents who came to cheer us on too and thank you to Mandy and Lousie for helping out.
Last week saw the final cross-country event of the school year. The competition for Years 3-6 was held at Settle College. Well done to all the runners who took part. Congratulations to Freya Plowright who won a silver medal for being the 2nd girl in her race and Morgan who just missed out on a medal as he came 4th in his race. I felt very proud of all of our competitors as they supported each other and cheered everyone on. Well done!
After initally being postponed due to the bad weather, we finally had the football funday at Settle College on Tuesday 28th June. We had 3 Ingleton teams at the 6 a-side event; a Year 2 team and two Year3/4 teams. This was a non-competitive event; however......all teams played really well with the Year 2 team winning every game they played and the Year 3/4 teams winning the majority of theirs. It was a wonderful event and a great first experience of cluster sport for our Year 2 children. Congratulations to Alexia Harrison who won Player of the Tournament.
All of our Year 2 pupils went to Settle College for a morning of Athletics. The annual mini olympics event is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to take part in a wide range of activities with Year 2 children from the whole cluster. Events included running, ball skills, hurdles, skipping and much more. We had a super time and the Settle College Sports Leaders were really impressed with our level of sporting ability. Well done Year 2!
On Tuesday 17th May a team of Year 5 and 6 pupils went to Settle cricket Club to play in a cricket tournament. The team played really well together against teams from our cluster. They enjoyed a great afternoon of cricket and came 5th place. Well done to Morgan, Finn, Thomas, George, Robbie, Daniel W, Daniel M and Sam.
Monday 25th April was the Quad Athletics event at Settle College. 144 pupils took part in the event which involved team competitions in 400/600m, 50/75m sprint, vortex throw and standing long jump. All of our 16 pupils participated in each event and did very well. It was a freezing cold afternoon and our pupils kept smiling and tried their best! Both the Y3/4 and Y5/6 teams came 4th place in the event whcih meant they qualified for the North Yorkshire finals in York in June! Jake came joint 1st as top scoring boy in the competition. Very well done to all our pupils!
Tri-Golf and Judo
Friday 22nd April was a busy day for Sport! A selection of our Year 4 pupils went to Settle Golf Club to play in a tri-golf tournament with other local schools. They had a great morning and received a trophy for working well as a team. For many pupils this was their first experience of an inter-school competition and it was a wonderful opportunity for them. In the afternoon Craven Judo Academy went to Settle Primary School for this term's tournament. As always, they did very well and Danny was pleased with their progress.
Johnny Walker Tag Rugby and Netball Festival 2016
On Friday 15th April we attended the Johnny Walker 2016 Tag Rugby and Netball festival at Giggleswick School. 9 rugby players and 7 netballers attended the event. The tag rugby players spent the morning training with members of North Ribblesdale Rugby Team and Settle College Sports Leaders whilst the netballers trained with the Jets Netball Team. Both teams took part in tournaments in the afternoon. The netball teams enjoyed a series of successful matches just missing out on the semi-final. Finn and Morgan played with a team from Settle in the Under 11s tournament gaining 5th place. Our Year 3/4 team were very successful and won the Under 9's tournament!! They received medals and a trophy with Freya also coming away with player of the tournament. What a great day we had! Congratulations to all the pupils who took part and thank you to all the parents for their support.
North Craven Football Tournamnet
On Tuesday 19th April two Y5/6 teams played in the NC football tournament at our school. The 6-a-side competition was well attended with 14 teams in total. All our pupils played well and showed great skill. In the A competition our team came 4th and in the B competition our team came 1st! Congratulations to George Mottram who received player of the tournament.
Quick Sticks Hockey
On Wednesday 23rd March 16 pupils played in a North Craven Quick Sticks Hockey Tournamnet at Giggleswick School. All the pupils were new to hockey and enjoyed a fantastic experience to play the sport with children from other schools. All of our pupils played well and showed excellent sportsmanship. Congratulations to Chloe and Jake who received players of the tournament. There were 8 schools competing and our results were as follows;

North Yorkshire Cross-Country Final 2016
On Thursday 17th March Jake Tilburn and Luca Dodgson attended the North Yorkshire Cross-Country Final at Dalby Forest. Both boys ran really well and had a great day. Well done boys!
Craven Judo Academy
On Friday 11th March pupils from Craven Judo Academy took part in a tournament held here at Ingleton Primary School. Students from Settle and Ingleton joined together for this event led by Danny Harper. It was a fun morning where children got the chance to take part in competitve matches and develop their skills.
An afternoon of hockey!
On Thursday 10th March James and Will from Kirkby Lonsdale Hockey Club came to our school for an afternoon of hockey coaching. A selection of our talented sports pupils enjoyed playing hockey and learning the rules and skills of quicksticks. It was a really enjoyable afternoon. All of the pupils were new to the game and thoroughly enjoyed the sport. They will take part in a quick sticks competition on the 23rd March at Giggleswick School.
High 5's Netball Tournament
On Monday 7th March our Year 6 girls went to Settle College to play netball. It was their first competitive netball tournament and they did us proud. All the girls played really well and enjoyed the games. They had lots of fun and gained in confidence throughout the afternoon.
Celebrating Out of School Achievements
In Year 2 we have been celebrating our sporting acheivements. Many children have worked hard out of school to achieve in various activities including football, swimming, skiing and climbing! What have you done out of school? Tell Miss Middleton and let's share your success!
Craven Judo Academy
On Sunday 24th January some of our students went to the Lancashire County Judo Championships. Joel, Hope and Elliot represented Craven Judo Academy at the event. Danny was really pleased with all the children's efforts and the results reflected this! There were over 120 competitors at the event and Elliot received bronze, Hope gained silver and Joel won gold, gaining him a place on the North West Area Judo Squad. Well done to these pupils!
On Friday 22nd January 18 children from Y3-6 went to Giggleswick School Sports Hall for a morning of Athletics. They were joined by children from Settle, Long Preston, GIggleswick and Kirky Malham. The children competed in track and field events to gain points for the school. The children enjoyed a range of activities such as sprint, hurdles, relays, high jump and speed bounce. We ended the morning with fun obstacle courses in our teams. The presentation was a great success for Ingleton with Year 3/4 girls gaining gold medals, Y3/4 boys gaining silver, Y5/6 girls gaining silver and the Y3/4 team won the trophy overall for most points. Also, a huge well done to the Y5/6 boys who all competed well and just missed out on a medal - it must have been close!
On Thursday 10th December Year 5 went to a Zumbathon at Settle College. They had lots of fun and it was great exercise! Mrs Mercer is going to do a Zumba taster session on Monday 11th January 3:30-4:40 for interested KS2 pupils. She will start a Zumba Club on Mondays from the 25th January, the cost will be £2 per session.
Badminton Tuesday 24th November
Well done to Finn, Thomas, Chloe, Tilly, Jake D and Luca for taking part in the Badminton at Giggleswick School on Tuesday 24th November. It was a great experience for all involved and pupils got to play singles and doubles matches with children from other schools. Congratulations to Thomas McKenzie for getting player of the tournament. Mrs Mercer commented on how polite we were and good sports.
Year 2 Gymnastics Thursday 12th November
On Thursday 12th November Year 2 went to Settle College for a fun packed morning of gymnastics. We tried lots of different activities led by the Settle College Sports Leaders. We challenged ourselves and not only developed our gymnastics skills but also perseverance and team work. We had fun on the horse, sprin box, ropes and beam!
Football Qualifier Thursday 22nd October
Two teams from Ingleton played in this football tournament at Settle College. Both teams played extremely well and did us proud! Well done to all who took part;

Our Y3/4 team came 3rd in the competition, just missing out on a medal. Our Y5/6 team came 4th. Congratulations to all involved, everyone played very well. A big well done to Freya as she was awarded player of the tournement! This was voted for by Settle College Sports Leaders. I would also like to thank all the parents/carers who stayed and supported Ingleton, especially Mr McKenzie and Mr Lockyer from Craven Wanderers for your support with both teams.
Cross-country Area Finals 15th October
Congratulations to Luca (Y3), Luke (Y4) and Jake (Y4) who all ran well in the cross-country area finals at Giggleswick School on Thursday 15th October. Jake and Luca are both through to the North Yorkshire Finals - Date and Venue tbc.

Cross-Country - Tuesday 22nd September 2015
The cross-country was a huge success with 25 pupils from our school participating! Well done to everyone who took part. It was the first inter-school competition for our year 3's and it was great to see so many taking part. All children ran well and were a great support to each other.

Craven Judo League
On Friday 17th July the Craven Judo League held an awards presentation at Settle Cricket Club. It was a great social event for pupils to interact with their Judo friends from other local schools. Jake, Joel and Ethan all won an award. The final presentations were best male and female in the whole league. We are pleased to say Jake Tilburn won best male scoring the most points in the league. Congratulations to all of the Judo competitors and thank you to Danny Harper for organising the event.
On Wednesday 1st July 20 pupils went to Settle College to take part in the Key Stage 2 rounders festival. We had a Year 3/4 team and a Year 5/6 team. Both teams played really well and gained third place! Lots of chidlren from Ingleton Primary School were also nomiated for best girl/boy in their year group. Considering all our pupils had just take part in the fun run and were very tired on such a hot day, you all played fantastically well!
On Tuesday 23rd June pupils from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 went to the cross-country at Settle College. This was a fun event and we encouraged as many children as possible to take part. The Year 3, 4 and 5 children ran around the Settle College field whilst the Year 6's had to run 2 fields. Well done to all the children who took part, everyone ran well. Congratulations to George and Kira (Year 4) who both got a medal for third places and Jake (Year 4) who got a trophy for first place.
On Tuesday 16th June Year 2 pupils went to Settle College for the Mini Olympics. Each group had a Settle College Sports Leader to look after them. There were 22 different activities around the field and each group moved around to have a go at them. There were activities such as throwing shotput and javelin as well as running and jumping activities. The long jump was a popular activity as well as the skipping challenge!
North Craven Football Tournament
We entered 2 teams for this tournment. Each team was made up of Year 5 and 6 children and we played 6-a-side against other children from local schools such as Settle, Hellifield, Horton-Clapham-Austwick and Giggleswick. Well done to both teams. Great performances and excellent sportsmanship!

Tag Rugby (Johnny Walker Tournament) - Friday 6th March at Giggleswick School
We took 2 teams to the Tag Rugby Tournament at Giggleswick School.
Under 9s team - Jake, Chloe, Scott, Thea, Hope, James, Thomas, Robbie and Daniel M.
Under 11s team - Finn, Ryan, Sophie H, Tom, Niall, Thomas, Rachel, Milly D and Eric.
Both teams played well and represented our school well. Our Under 9s team went straight into the final and played Giggleswick Junior School in a nail biting match, just being beaten at the last minute. They all played well and gained a silver medal in the presentation at the end.
Swimming Gala - Friday 6th february at Settle Swimming Pool
Congratulations to all the pupils who took part in the Swimming Gala. Everyone swam well and it was fantastic to seemany children taling part in a competitve sporting event for the first time. A huge congratulations to Chloe Gardner-Bonsall who has won a place at the Craven finals at Aireville Pool on March 6th. Good luck to Chloe!

Clapham Fell Run
Congratulations to all the children who ran in the Clapham fell run. It was hot and very muddy so well done to everyone for taking part. A huge well done to Niall for coming third in the Year 5 race and George for coming 4th in the Year 3 race.
Well done to Olivia, Charlie, Tom, Niall, Jonathan, Thomas, Ben and Millie S from Class 5 who played cricket at Settle Cricket Club on 5th June. The whole team played well. Unfortunately we did not qualify for the championship but we did enjoy winning a friendly against High Bentham School.
Well done to all the pupils in Class 3 and 4 who performed in the dance show at QES on 5th June. All the teachers commented on how well you behaved and performed. Miss Shepherd was very pleased with you all too!
